It reduces thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) and increases glutathione (GSH), catalase, GSH peroxidase, and CuZn superoxide dismutase levels in a rat model of persistent environmental pollutant-induced oxidative stress when administered at a dose of 200 mg/kg per day.
