  Description (-)-Parthenolide (PTL) is a natural sesquiterpene lactone produced as a secondary metabolite by plants of the Asteraceae/ Compositae (daisies) and Magnoliaceae family (magnolias). It was first isolated from feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium L. Schulz Bip. or synonymously Chrysanthemum parthenium L. Bernh.).
